‘Our Electric outboard, the E-Motion 180E, will provide an unparalleled boating experience that is noiseless, odorless, and smokeless. Our electric outboard provides the captain with a responsiveness that is not felt with traditional gas engine outboards. Electric power is more available on our waterways today than gasoline, which will only increase in years to come.
Electric engines require less maintenance since they have significantly fewer moving parts than traditional combustion engines. Our E-Motion 180E Outboard engine will save time and money, thus allowing our clients to enjoy more time boating. Boaters will definitely appreciate that our E-Motion 180E does not require: gasket changes, oil changes, carburetor cleaning, rebuilds, and maintenance schedule.’

‘Vision Marine Technologies (NASDAQ: VMAR) (“Vision Marine” or the “Company”), the global leader in the electric recreational marine propulsion industry serving OEMs, is proud to announce a historic milestone in the boating industry by shattering the 100 MPH speed barrier on an electric watercraft. The event, in its 34th year, catered to a plethora of onsite and online video-streaming viewers.
A consortium of several important world-renowned players needed to come together to achieve such a feat. Vision Marine, in partnership with Hellkat Powerboats, gave birth to the V32, a 32′ catamaran hull specifically designed to accommodate the necessary battery banks to power a pair of Vision Marine’s flagship E-Motion™ electric outboards with the sole intention of breaking new ground.’
‘The E-Motion 180 is made up of a 650-volt electric motor, 60-kilowatt lithium battery pack, and 220-volt marine connecting charger, with throttle controls, a monitor, and a two-year warranty on the motor. The complete package goes for about $79,000, including $27,000 for the motor.
Any boat that currently uses a traditional fuel-powered 180-horsepower outboard is a candidate for an E-Motion 180, according to the company. You need at least a 175 hp outboard to push a 19- to 29-foot boat and Mongeon predicts future versions of the E-Motion will be even more powerful.
Besides, “the traditional ICE (internal combustion engine)-powered outboard engine emits exhaust gases, unburnt fuel, and oil into the environment and the waterways,” the CEO says.
“Our E-Motion uses electricity and does not emit any exhaust gases, etc. Also, electric outboard engines need approximately 90% less engine maintenance than ICE-powered outboards and last significantly longer before a major overhaul is required.”
The motor also is said to be noiseless, with less vibration, “which enables passengers to have comfortable conversations while traveling at speed.” Or maybe hear the music more clearly.’
